Hamilton lived the life of a well-paid Carnie while lighting scenes in Toronto’s film and television industry. In 2007, during a raucous wrap party for the cable movie “Grey Gardens” Mr. Hamilton shared a personal moment with the film’s star Drew Barrymore. The intoxication of starlet and substance brought an unexpected surprise: Jason’s wife (make-up artist Sylvie Mazerolle) became pregnant. That set off a cavalcade of events three years later that saw the couple and their young child sell their house, move to another province, build a yurt and start over again. The stuff of legend? Hardly. The content for a book? Greater literature has been crafted from lesser moments."Life, the Yurt and Everything" Mr. Hamilton’s debut non-fiction work was independently published in 2014. One year later, he completed "Finding Asia" - a travelogue bound by dilemma: would a six-week backpacking adventure help determine if you’re ready to join the parenting fraternity? In 2016 Mr. Hamilton took a break from creative non-fiction to complete the first of a series in the realm of ‘rural, fantasy, adventure’ entitled "The Prince of Acadia & the River of Fire". Jason lives in the Moncton area with his son Dustin and common-law heterosexual life partner Sylvie Mazerolle.
